supposedly this upcoming winter is going to be one of the coldest.
i say, any slight indication of sunshine and warmth the next few weeks is reason enough for flip flop weather. and giving myself a pedi.

there’s snow in motherfucking april. lemme repeat that: there’s snow in motherfucking april. the thought of heating bills should be long gone by now.
and those cravings for perfectly hot showers. but no, that feeling’s trying to make a comeback like every bad movie sequel we’ve ever known. (via ifitseasy)

random thought.

for anybody stuck in this snow mess going into labor today, may the force be with you.

chiming in on the snow posts. with 60mph winds and some crazy ridiculous amount of inches per hour, this is the kinda view you’ll get of the snow piled up on the side of the roads. i also heard that depaul got snow days this week. yes, pluralized.
hmph, we never got snow days. but then again, we never got anything quite like this.

blizzard of 2011? chicago expected to get 16 to 24 inches of snow.

brace yourselves, guys. this week’s snow storm may just make history. not like we aren’t used to winter wonderlands, but this expected “wintry battle zone” could be one for the record books that would be as devastating as the bears losing to the packers.

sooo… anyone else hoping this is a big ol’ false alarm?

the difference between the cold in other places & the cold in chicago.

the cold in chicago

well i’ll have one hell of a time going from 80 to -25° (with windchill) within one day.

definitely unprepared for coming home! will be lacking the winter essentials so i may have to run for my life until i’m inside a warm & toasty vehicle.

sunday morning rain is falling.

sunday morning rain is falling.

it’s still sunshine and summertime for moi.

despite minor homesickness, not ready to dip into freezing temps quite yet.

coffeemochi-deactivated20120118 asked: Hi!
Are you back in chicago yet?
I think youre one of the more interesting people I follow on tumblr :)
anywhoo I hope you have a happy new year!

first off, happy new year! second, thanks. this is the first thing i’m seeing after waking up to the new year, and it’s a nice thing to wake up to.

you’re one of the more interesting people i follow. you see the humor in everyday occurrences and i get a kick out of you and your c stories, they’re adorable! you also once said “chicago winters are what nightmares are made of” and i totally feel you on that one. you’re not biased, i’ve lived there all my life. then there’s the plenty of other people i’ve met from the midwest and my friends in new york who’ve said they’ve never met a winter quite like chicago’s winter.

although, i’ve missed it this holiday season. i may hate the winter 99% of the time but i love seeing the city blanketed in snow. and then it turns to slush and i hate it again.

and no, not back home yet, i fly in on the 21st. it’s a nice long sabbatical…

.....fleeting moments and the daily grind.

from the city of wind, in a love-hate tango with nostalgia, doubts there'll ever be a point when common will not be relevant, revels in (eases) life's cherry pits, and fueled by words & beats.
